Montgomery Middle East
Phil started his career with Montgomery in 1989 after working in Saudi Arabia in his formative years. Needless to say he joined the Middle East department project managing shows in Riyadh, Bahrain and Istanbul. In 1996 he became a Director of Overseas Exhibition Services, Montgomery’s original international division, developing a new show programme in the Philippines before taking charge of the oil and gas portfolio in London. In 2001 he headed for Indonesia to re-establish the business in the post Asia crisis period developing events in Jakarta, Surabaya and Bali. He also served on the Board of the British Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia. In 2007 he returned to London to restart Montgomery’s Saudi Arabia venture following the completion of a brand new exhibition centre in Riyadh. Whilst Saudi Arabia is the cornerstone of the Middle East economies opportunities exist for show development across the Arabian Peninsula and North Africa.
